About Us
Visit-Thailand.org is an English-language guide to Thailand that has been online since 2013. It is written for travelers, digital nomads and anyone thinking about a longer stay.
The site began as a small collection of pages about Hua Hin, Pattaya and the tsunami question that worried many visitors after 2004. Over the years it has grown into a guide to Thailand's cities and islands, visas and money, transport, health and safety, culture and everyday life.
Who is behind the site
Visit-Thailand.org is published by Nordic Webinvest Ltd, a small independent publisher based in London that runs travel and consumer guides in several languages. The editor is Terje Moy, who has traveled across large parts of Thailand over many visits, from Bangkok and the north to the islands of the Andaman Sea and the Gulf.
Several of our older articles come straight from those trips: the gym on Koh Lipe, the stonefish that sent a member of our travel group to hospital, the Green Mile walk in Bangkok. Newer guides are researched and written by our editorial team and checked by the editor before publication.
How we work
Thailand changes quickly. Visa rules, entry cards, national park fees, alcohol hours and transport routes have all changed in the last few years. We therefore:
- base rules and prices on official sources, such as Thai immigration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the national park department and the railway, and link to them;
- show when each article was first published and when it was last updated;
- write the month we checked anything that is likely to change;
- correct mistakes as soon as we learn about them.

What we are not
Visit-Thailand.org is a private initiative. It is not run by, or connected to, the Tourism Authority of Thailand or any government body, and it does not sell tours, hotels or visas. We do not give legal, medical, tax or financial advice: for those, the official source or a qualified professional must have the last word.
How the site is funded
The site shows advertising from Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence on what we write, and we do not accept payment for articles or reviews. A few older articles contain referral links to payment services (Revolut and Wise); they are clearly marked for search engines, and the site may receive a small benefit if a reader signs up.
