Editorial Policy and Sources

This page describes how Visit-Thailand.org researches, writes, checks and corrects its guides, and how we keep advertising separate from content.

Sources

For anything that has consequences for the reader, such as visas, entry rules, customs, health, law, money and safety, we use official sources first and link to them in the article:

Each article ends with a list of the main sources used and the month they were checked. Blogs, forums and social media may give us a lead, but never the final number.

Dates and updates

Every article shows the date it was first published and, if it has been updated since, the date of the last real update. A new link or a design change does not count as an update; a corrected fact, a new rule or a rewritten section does. Rules that change often are written with the month we checked them, for example "60 days (as of October 2026)".

Health, law and money

We explain what the official source says and link to it. We do not give personal medical, legal, tax or financial advice. Where the answer depends on your nationality, health or situation, we say so and point you to the right authority or professional.

Businesses and recommendations

We name hotels, restaurants, tour operators or shops only where it genuinely helps, and only places we have reason to believe are open and well established. We do not accept payment, free stays or gifts in exchange for coverage. When we compare services, such as ride-hailing apps or ferry companies, we describe how they work and what they cost, and we never present one commercial operator as the only option.

Advertising and referral links

The site is funded by Google AdSense advertising, which Google places automatically. Advertisers do not see articles before publication and have no influence on them. A small number of older articles contain referral links to Revolut and Wise; these links carry a technical marking (rel="sponsored") so that search engines can identify them.

Photos

Photos come from our own trips and from Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, Flickr and Wikimedia Commons. Every photo from an outside source is listed with photographer, licence and source on our image credits page, and credited directly beneath the image when its licence requires it. We choose photos that show the actual place or situation described.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, write to info@visit-thailand.org. We check the claim against the source and correct the article. Significant corrections update the article's "Updated" date.
