How the refund works
You get back less than the full 7% VAT: the official table deducts a fee, so 5,000 baht gives 250 baht back. Goods must be bought in shops showing the VAT Refund for Tourists sign, with a P.P.10 form issued on the day, and shown to Customs at the airport before check-in, within 60 days of purchase. Refunds over 30,000 baht are not paid in cash.
